The issues examined in the play are as topical as ever: feelings of confinement and isolation in a faceless digital world, yearning for a real life that lies somewhere else, alienation from oneself, the absurdity of human existence in an indifferent universe, the failure of communication among the most closely-knit people—the members of a family—that in this case reaches the utmost tragic consequence: death.
