In the context of social contribution for relief to socially vulnerable groups, the Foundation responded to a request by the AMIMONI National Society of Parents, Carers and Friends of the Visually Impaired with Attendant Disabilities to support and update its music therapy department. Music here is used as a means of communication, expression and creativity, providing individuals with varying degrees of difficulties and disabilities with an alternative way of communication and expression without the distortions brought about by illness or disability.
Music therapy has a key effect in improving life quality irrespective of one’s emotional, social, physical or mental health and state. Aided by their music therapists, children, teenagers or adults develop their emotional, communication and social skills, promote their self-awareness, boost their self-esteem, improve their ability to focus, concentrate and interact, reduce stress, organise their thought and structure their speech, learn to cooperate, discover and develop their innate creativity, find joy and satisfaction and enhance their quality of life.
